The PSDB line cards provide the flexibility to complete the GiDEL PROCSpark II / PROCStar II system with additional connectivity and functionality. System connectivity is achieved on these daughterboards via 1.6GHz connectors, providing more connection speed.

There are several options for the user to fit a daughterboard to his/her needs, no matter which kind of PROC motherboard he/she has chosen:

  • Using one of the existing GiDEL's daughter boards,

  • Creating a daughterboard basing on a GiDEL PSDB_Proto daughterboard,

  • Developing a custom daughter board, or

  • Using GiDEL's outsourcing in order to develop a daughter board according to the user's requirements.

General Features:

  • Clocking: PROC motherboard's main clocks as well as dedicated clock outputs enter the daughter boards.

  • Power supply: PROC motherboards supply 5V, 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V  to the daughterboards.

  • Connectivity: The PSDB cards connect to the PROC motherboard via one or two 1.6GHz connectors.

  • Identification: PROC motherboards identify the installed daughterboard(s) and notify the host software of their presence.

  • Location: PROCStar II motherboards allow installation of several daughterboards of different types.

PSDB_PHY

Up to 4 channels of 10/100/1000Mbps Copper & Fiber using pluggable SFP technology, based on Marvell 88E1145 PHY

 

PSDB_PWR

Enable up to 56A at 1.2V for FPGA power supply, and up to 16A at 3.3V for PROCStar II board global supply. External 12V power supply source.

 

PSDB_SRAM

512K x 36bits SRAM/ 255MHz, NoBL architecture. Linear / Interleaved burst access ability.

 

PSDB_IO

12 channels OptoCoupler Input & 8 channels OptoCoupler output, 8 channels Buffer input & 8 channels Buffer output, 12 channels RS422 input &
8 channels RS422 output, 1 channel RS232 Input output, 11 channels 10Bit ADC, 8 channels 8Bit DAC.

 

PSDB_CL_Out
Used as part of Camera Link simulator.
