-
Evaluation systems based on Stratix FPGAs and DSP processors;
-
DSP applications;
-
Imaging, machine vision & image recognition;
-
System hardware acceleration;
-
Cellular base station equipment;
-
Test equipment;
-
Digital imaging, medical imaging, magnetic
resonance imaging, satellite imaging;
-
Aerospace and military systems;
-

And much more. . .
Technology
-
ALTERA STRATIX 40 and Cyclone 12
FPGA packages and TI TMS320C6414(600)
DSP processors.
-
PCI standard interface using Altera's PCI core,
implemented on an additional device.
Key features
-
Up to four Altera STRATIX 40,
one Altera Cyclone 12 and
up to four TI TMS320C6414(600)
devices on a single board for custom
user logic implementations.
-
Supported by Gidel
PROC Developer's Kit
.
-
Standard PCI interface using Altera
PCI IP 32/64 bit 33/66MHz (realized on
additional device).
-
8 DMA channels maintaining up to
420 MHz transfer rate.
-
Six-leveled memory structure:
-
Up to 1536 M512 RAM blocks (32 x 18 bits).
-
Up to 784 M4K RAM blocks (128 x 36 bits).
-
Up to 16 MegaRAM blocks (4K x 144 bits).
-
Up to four 64MB DDR blocks (1M x 64bits)
with innovative controller, enabling
parallel access to up to 64 ports, at
7.2 GB/s sustain rate.
-
Two DDR SODIMMS, supporting up to 1 GB
of external memory each. These SODIMMS
can also be accessed via the innovative
MultiPort controller.
-
Up to four DSP-private SDRAMs (64 MB each)
-
CameraLink in+out for machine vision,
supporting base, medium and full modes.
-
Up to 140 additional I/O connections.
-
Up to 12 RS422 transmitters / receivers.
-
RS232 interface.
-
Five MICTOR debug connectors.
-
Flexible clocking system for various
on-board clocks: main clock, local bus
clock, clk2 (internal or external),
a clock for each memory bank and direct
clocks between the daughter cards
and the STRATIX devices.
The PROC DSP
architecture, with Gidel’s powerful PROC Developer's Kit, offers an
incredible improvement of time-to-market, as it eliminates the need
for board design, the PCI application driver, board constrains (such as pin-outs) and a
memory controller. This enables designers to focus on their proprietary
value-added design instead of spending their valuable effort on re-creating
standard design components.
Supported operation systems
-
Microsoft Windows;
-
Linux.
Re-Configuration
PROC_DSP boards can be easily re-configured by user's software.
The re-configuration is accomplished simply by closing the current class object and
opening a new application driver object. The board can alternatively be re-configured by calling the
Load_IC method or using the
PROCWizard
development tool in order to merely replace a specific device.
- The application drivers are automatically generated by
PROCWizard.
- The rapid parallel access to on-board DRAM and DDR II memories can also be reconfigured
using the PROC Multiport controller.
